Philosophy

The mission of the administration and staff at Big Island Elementary School is to provide a nurturing, caring, learning environment so that students will have the opportunity to maximize their potential personally, creatively, and academically.

We hope to instill in our students the desire to become responsible world citizens, recognizing the importance of providing them with critical thinking and problem solving skills to address the issues of a constantly changing society.

Finally, we would encourage children to become self-motivated learners searching for the joy, discovery, and wonderment that education offers, not only for the years spent in schools and universities, but for a lifetime.
