About Us :

The Blakely Rotary Club was chartered June 2, 1926 as Blakely’s first service club. The Charter Night celebration was held on June 22 of that year. A large delegation from the Albany Rotary Club was present at the event as the sponsoring club. For more than 80 years the Blakely Rotary Club has provided the community with humanitarian and educational activities each year.

Major Accomplishments of the Blakely Rotary Club

Purchased and donated land for the establishment of Kolomoki Mounds State Park.

Encouraged beef cattle production by sponsoring cattle shows featuring pure-bred cattle

Sponsors a Rotary Student through GRSP

Raised over $40,000 for the American Heart Association

Provided $11,000 for the purchase of land on which Maddox Memorial Library was constructed

Provided approximately one-third of the funds needed for the first Habitat for Humanity House in Early County and continues to contribute to this cause yearly

Supports the Literacy Task Force of Early County each year financially

Sponsors the STAR Student Scholarship each year

Promote and support PolioPlus and Clean Water Program
