Mission:

To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to realize their full potential as productive, caringm responsible citizens.

Vision:

To be the organization where our passionate team engages youth in the Club experience that assures success is within reach.

About Us:

Since 1936, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi (BGCCM) have provided after-school and summer youth development programs for at-risk children in the Jackson Metro Area. Our kids spent about 750,000 hours at Club facilities last year, learning new life skills and values that will serve them for a lifetime. We currently serve over 2,200 youth, ages 6 – 18, in Hinds and Madison Counties at our four (4) Club Units (Capitol, Walker, Sykes and Canton) and our camp facility (Camp John I. Hay) in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. At each of our units, we have a Unit Director, Program Director, and Program Instructors. Our Program Directors and Program Instructors are the point of delivery for our youth development services. Our Unit Directors ensure training, implementation, and overall management of program delivery to our youth.

We are developing young people into positive, self-sufficient citizens and our Clubs are the fertile grounds that cultivate tomorrow’s successful, responsible adults. We provide our youth access to literacy remediation, academic enrichment, technology, leadership opportunities, computer labs, arts and crafts, ceramic centers, swimming, Camp John I. Hay, organized sports, programs on substance abuse, domestic abuse, money management, job readiness and career preparation, teenage pregnancy, conflict resolution and much more.
