The mission of the Brea Chamber of Commerce is to represent member businesses by providing programs and opportunities that support their prosperity.
About the Chamber:
The Brea Chamber of Commerce is more than just a plaque on the wall for its member businesses. It offers many outstanding business-support programs. The Chamber's pro-active involvement has saved its member businesses money because the Chamber has a large number of committee volunteers, running businesses just like yours, who take the time to study issues and present recommendations. The Chamber also has a good working relationship with city officials who are committed to providing a good business environment and are willing to listen and compromise.
Chamber volunteers have worked with the city in drafting numerous laws that affect you. The Smoking, Anti-Graffiti & Affordable Housing Ordinances, as well as many others, have had the benefit of input from the business community. The permitting process has been streamlined, the sign code revamped, surveys of local businesses have been conducted and business support programs implemented, all with the support of the Brea Chamber of Commerce.
A representative from the Chamber attends every City Council meeting. The Chamber Legislative and Local Issues Committees study proposed local ordinance(s) and pour over state, federal and regional legislation that affects businesses. They communicate pro-business positions to the appropriate officials and agencies.
Marketing tools, demographics, sources of business assistance, general information, and a network of over 800 business professionals are as close as your telephone. Many special benefits are available to members including credit union plans. The Brea Business Directory and Community Guide is mailed to all businesses and residences in Brea and lists member businesses both alphabetically and by category. Networking events such as the monthly breakfast and mixer give members the chance to meet new people and promote their business.
Finally, the Chamber professional staff provides an excellent resource center for members. If the staff doesn't know the answer to a question, they will find out or direct you to someone that can help. Staff members attend City Council and Planning Commission meetings. They also represent business interests to city departments. They have current information about community events, clubs and organizations, businesses that are moving in and out of Brea, projects that are on the drawing board, statistical data about the region and legislative action that affects the business community. It's like having an extended staff to help your business.
