Mission:

At The Chestnut Hill School, our mission to educate children is deeply rooted in a commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and community.

Through a thoughtfully balanced program that nurtures the whole child, we engage, challenge, and support children as they develop the skills and confidence to achieve educational success. As we intentionally build a diverse school community, we value, respect, and educate ourselves about its resulting gifts and complexities. We foster the growth of our students as responsible, contributing community members who stand up for their beliefs, express their thoughts, and care about the rights and feelings of others.

Vision:

Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, a five-year Strategic Plan was developed in 2010 and serves as the blueprint by which institutional priorities and goals are implemented. Recent initiatives include the development of a new daily schedule, the hiring of a Senior Level Director of Community and Diversity, the launching of a Major Gifts program, the introduction of iPad integration into an already-rich technology program, and the enhancement / reclamation of our beautiful outdoor spaces.

In preparation for the constantly-evolving profile of the 21st century citizen, The Chestnut Hill School remains sensitive both to the needs of individual students and to the complexity of a global society. Guided by the three pillars of our mission - academic excellence, diversity and community - we recognize that social and emotional wellness is central to effective learning. Personal connection, multicultural perspective, interdisciplinary learning, artistic achievement, intellectual challenge, and constant self-renewal: these are our most enduring legacies.
