The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County is a not-for-profit agency formed in 1988. It is governed by volunteer community leaders and children's agency professionals devoted to preventing and healing child abuse in all its forms

The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County (CAPC) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1988 dedicated to the prevention and healing of child abuse. The Council is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of business and community leaders devoted to quality of life for all children.

CAPC’s vision is that all children grow up in safe, healthy and nurturing homes.

CAPC goals:

Advocate for the needs of Placer County’s abused and neglected children.

Educate professionals and the community-at-large to recognize and do something about child abuse.

Create new programs to prevent abuse and to help abused and neglected children.

Plan and coordinate exiting children’s services to make them more responsive and cost effective.

The Council utilizes three major strategies to achieve its goals:

school and community-based programs that provide direct services to children and families;

public education campaigns;

collaborative projects
