Children's (umbilical) Cord Blood Bank

141 Storer Ave
718-440-2705

The Children's Cord Blood Bank is a Public umbilical Cord Blood Program developed to provide information and access to life-saving treatments using adult umbilical cord blood stem cells. The CCBBRF provides health education about the advantages & limitations of using umbilical cord blood, pregnancy healthcare issues & the immune system in the NYC metro, and underserved areas, including Staten Island. Our Mission is to provide educational information about public umbilical cord blood options, so that all parents may eventually have a choice regarding their child's umbilical cord, regardless of their economic status.

Children of color are much less likely to find a suitable stem cell donor in cases of blood cancers, leukemia, genetic illnesses, and anemias, like sickle cell, even though NYC parents are discarding 90,000 cord blood units a year. Cord blood is NOT Trash! Every cord blood unit saved can save a Life!
