The mission of the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life of the Kokomo community through well maintained parks, recreation facilities, programs and services protecting our environment, personal and social benefits, and economic opportunities.

The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department offers the City of Kokomo, friends, and neighbors, an exciting and diverse Park system. Individuals of all ages may participate in a wide range of activities and take advantage of over 450 acres of city parks and facilities. Recreational programs have expanded on a yearly basis and are offered for all age groups year round.
We invite the community to visit, participate, and enjoy any park or facility of their choosing. Whether you wish to throw a softball around the infield, visit with relatives under the large mature shade trees offered throughout the parks, or take the plunge at the Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center, we welcome you.

The Parks Department also maintains several local historical facilities and displays. Come and visit the Vermont Covered Bridge, read and visit about "Old Ben" at our Visitors Center, or tour the Elwood Haynes Museum, all at no cost.

The staff of the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will be glad to provide any additional information on programs, facilities, activities, special events and available Park Department rental facilities.
