The City of Montgomery, with an estimated 3,129 residents, is a growing rural community with that small town atmosphere. Half-way between the south metro and Mankato, the City of Montgomery is located in northeastern Le Sueur County. This area has seen steady population growth and will only continue to grow in the years to come.
This Rural Community can be characterized by its Czechoslovakian heritage, which it continues to proudly celebrate. The original settlement was by Czech and German immigrants who brought their traditions and customs to the rural landscape of the Montgomery area. It is this Czechoslovakian heritage, which is celebrated each year at one of Minnesota's oldest festivals - Kolacky Days.
