History:
Looking north on Nooksack Ave. From left to right: the original Ryason Store now owned by Tilbury and Germain, Al Germain home Osterman's Boarding House about 1892 (later became Swanson's Hotel, now the site of Vavra Auto Body) Frank Swanson's Store, Charles Bulmer's Furnture, John Swanson and Andrew Heath Confections (original store) Gillies and Seaberg, Charles Hotel.    

[ENLARGE]  Local band organized about 1901. Bandstand located in corner of the Park at Nooksack Ave. and Madison St. Later moved to across the street from current City Hall and became the City Hall and Jail. Note: 45 star flag and railroad sign (look out for the cars).

[ENLARGE]   Gillies and Seaberg (building at right) and Mather Building (second from right) built shortly after 1906 and later burned in 1910. Mather purchased former Thompson's Drugstore in 1904.
