Dumont High School, which opened in 1932, is a comprehensive high school, accredited by the Middle States Association of College and Secondary Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education. Additions to the building were completed in 1957 and 1960 respectively. The addition of a new media center and updated Science labs is expected to begin in 2005
