  This old church is one of Kentucky’s oldest, having been established in 1794. Her original name was The Buck and Elk Creek Baptist Church. The current sanctuary was erected over one hundred years ago. More important than the building or the past are the people and the present. The congregation of Elk Creek Baptist Church is ever evolving. Future members are being born into member families, new member families are being added as the Elk Creek community grows, and sadly there are always some who will be passing on to the next life.

Because people are born and die, we find great reason for our existence. The message we share is a message of hope to all the faithful in Christ. We believe the church is the family of God. It is there that we are to gather in song and fellowship. It is where we can give ourselves to the study of God’s word, the Bible, and learn His will and His ways. It is where we can find hope in the time of need and it is where we can corporately praise Him.
