SCARECROW CONTEST

DOWNTOWN AND SURROUNDING AREAS OF SPARTA

RULES:

*This contest is open to all individuals, businesses and organizations.

*Scarecrows may be put up starting Oct 15th and should be done no later than Oct 20th for judging.

*Scarecrows and items of decoration should not be more than 7feet tall.

*Scarecrows will be displayed in the downtown areas with areas along Bockman Way be the main area and expanding out as need be.

*Scarecrows can be affixed to light poles, trees and other stationary items with rope, zip ties and soft material as to not damage these fixtures.

*Scarecrows and decorations cannot block walkways, doorways or business entrances and cannot cause any safety problems.

*Contestants are responsible for their display and should check often to see that the area is maintained.

*This is a family event and all scarecrows and items much be G rated.  The Elks has the right to refuse entrances not following these guidelines.

* The Elks and the City of Sparta will not be responsible for any items damaged or stolen while the scarecrow is on display. So please do not use valuable items.

*All displays much be taken down by_Nov 2^nd .

*A $20.00 entrance fee will be paid before your display can be setup. At that time your will receive your number and place where your scarecrow will be.  The number has to be pinned to the scarecrow for purposes of voting.
