At First Baptist Church, we believe that worship is the highest task to which we are called. With our voices and with our lives we want to declare both the greatness and the goodness of God.
Our Sunday morning worship service might typically be described as "traditional", but that doesn't tell the whole story. We sing most often from the hymnal, but we also use some contemporary hymns and songs in our service.
Our goal is to hold to the great tradition without being traditionalistic. We do this through several practices -- following the Christian Year, readings from the Revised Common Lectionary, silent prayer. At the same time we welcome elements that come from our own congregation's creativity -- new songs, orginal artwork, dramatic readings
Our worship is led each week by Clark Powers. Our pianists are Darlene Argo, Sandra Benge, Kate Spalinger and Jessica Thacker. Our organists are Sharon Webb and Joyce Stancik
