I am the pastor of First Lutheran Church of Van Nuys. My name is Erik Loza and I have been serving here for over 12 years. Our congregation ministers to both English- and Spanish-speaking folks and we are open to people of all nations and backgrounds. Our main goal is to make disciples, as Jesus commanded His own disciples to do before He ascended into Heaven. The word "disciple" means "student," so we are looking to see people receive the Gospel through repentance and faith, and then learn how to follow Christ daily as they themselves learn to take the Gospel out to others. We are focused on training people up to carry out these tasks. Our ministry also seeks to help people with material needs, through our food distribution ministry and monthly breakfast for the community. We also have a fairly small amount of used clothing for those with the need.
