vision of the First United Methodist Church of Escondido is to be a community of people who love Christ, live like Christ, serve Christ and share Christ.

WE BELIEVE: There is one God whose nature is love and grace, who desires to be in relationship with all people.
THEREFORE: We will assist people in developing a personal relationship with God.

WE BELIEVE: God is revealed in the risen Christ as Lord and Savior.
THEREFORE: We will introduce people to Jesus and equip them to live as His disciples.

WE BELIEVE: The Holy Spirit is God’s empowering presence.
THEREFORE: We will live by the power of the Spirit.

WE BELIEVE: The Bible, the inspired word of God, provides spiritual direction for daily living.
THEREFORE: We will read it, interpret it, teach it, and live by it.

WE BELIEVE: Prayer is communication with God—and it works.
THEREFORE: We will live prayerfully and listen to God.

WE BELIEVE: The church, as a community of believers, shares the Good News of Jesus Christ through word and deed.
THEREFORE: We will make God’s love visible in the world by all we think, say, and do.

WE BELIEVE: All people are created in the image of God and are of infinite worth.
