Fire protection is provided by the Florence Township Fire Department to the Township of Florence and surrounding communities. The Department is administered by a Board of Fire Commissioners. The Board is comprised of five elected officials, each serving a three year term. One full-time Chief, one full-time Fire Official, one full-time EMS Chief and three full-time firefighters are employed by the Board.

These individuals are responsible for conducting the periodic building inspections, fire suppression, and EMS activities. The fire department has certain areas of specialization. They include but are not limited to: Fire Prevention Inspections, Fire Investigations, Public Education, Vehicle Extrication, Confined Space Rescue, Aerial Ladder Operations, Fire Suppression and EMS
