Foothill Ranch Elementary (FRE). Our staff, parents, and 1,384 students invite you to come visit and take a live tour of our campus. We promise to roll out the red carpet and will offer you a total behind the scenes view of how we do business. You will notice that we are indeed a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School. However, what we are most proud of is the strong bond we have with our community and parents. We firmly believe that it does take a whole village to “raise” a child.

Our facility is exceptional. We are a Mello-Roos school and have already received school improvements that were funded through Measure B money. We have expanded our shaded lunch area, tripled the size of our Big Toy, and are enjoying a totally renovated athletic field that now includes a first-rate Little League field soon to be wired for a pitching machine. Future Measure B projects will include additional MPR space, an expanded library, and much-needed additional onsite parking.

We have some exciting new programs that have been in the planning and are now ready to be implemented. Teachers will be able to have papers graded using up to 16 criteria. Rubrics can be tailored to meet both teacher and State Standards. Students are given the opportunity to revise and resubmit the papers for grading. Additionally, teachers will have immediate feedback for planning future focus areas for remediation.

Our PTA, Foothill Ranch Kids Foundation, and parent donations have provided us with funds that will allow us to expand our use of technology in the classroom. We were able to purchase 48 more Imac G-5 computers, which completes our goal of providing each of our teachers with a state of the art computer. To further promote the use of technology in the classroom, twenty teachers have volunteered to collaborate in expanding our Power Point presentation library. These Standards-based lessons will be shared and presented in classrooms utilizing twenty new LCD projectors and screens.
