Fresh Start Farms is a collective of immigrant and refugee farmers who are participating in the New American Sustainable Agriculture Project (NASAP). Members of the collective have come to Maine from Sudan, Somalia, and Guatemala with generations of farming livelihoods in their personal and community history. With support from NASAP, they have received training in production techniques relevant to northern New England. Together, they contribute a vibrant and exciting new face to the local foods movement here in Maine, one that embraces our agricultural past while celebrating the diversity of our future.

Fresh Start Farms growers sell produce to restaurants and grocers, at farmers' markets, and through a CSA under their collective label.
