About Us
Since 1965, the Friends of Historic Kingston, a volunteer membership organization, has worked to preserve houses, buildings or properties of historic or architectural significance in Kingston, New York - the third oldest settlement in New York State and its first capital.

The Friends of Historic Kingston operate two museums at the site of the organization's headquarters at the corner of Main and Wall Street. We also maintain several historic sites including the Louw-Bogardus Ruin in Frog Alley Park and the Sharp Burying Ground on Albany Avenue.

Walking tours of the Stockade National Historic District and Rondout National Historic District are offered each month from May through October. We also offer a special walking tour for school and youth groups by appointment year-round.

The Friends of Historic Kingston maintains a growing collection of local history materials, sponsors publications, and offers gallery exhibits, programs and lectures to educate the public about one of America's most historic communities.

The Friends of Historic Kingston welcomes visitors to Kingston and we also welcome new members! Membership donations are a major source of support for our museums, educational programs and preservation activities.
