History:
Although there are some records that the church of Christ existed in Golden, Colorado in the 1800's, the present church began meeting in the basement of the First National Bank at 13th and Jackson in February of 1962. Their facilities included a small auditorium-type room and a cloakroom served as a children's Bible classroom. Sunday and midweek evening services were held in the homes of members. Charter members included: Glenn, Edith and Paul Thomas; Tawny Sheridan; Olaine and Charles Petty; Chip Jones; Kyle Tudor; Dennis, Emma, Steve and Stan Piety. Paul Thomas served as preacher and Charles Petty led the singing.

From June to October of 1966 the congregation met at the Golden Savings and Loan building. At that time, the congregation purchased a permanent facility at 1509 Ulysses. Growth was rapid and a new building was completed on the present location in January of 1970. New classrooms were added by building an upper level in 1977 and the auditorium was expanded in 1982. During 1999, a major remodel and expansion was completed. The congregation celebrated this achievement and its 30th anniversary with a Homecoming weekend in May of 2000.

In addition to Paul Thomas, the congregation has been blessed with several full-time preachers. They include: Don Cavasses, Homer Wolfe, Jr., Douglas Perkins, Joe W. Smith, Don Canter, Warren Wilcox and Hoyt Beasley. Rick Walker has served the congregation since 1991. David Lange, Bret Carter and Lonnie Milligan have served as youth ministers in the past.
