As a Church who accepts the totality of Scripture as being without error and inspired by the Holy Spirit, we preach the Cross of Christ. We want people to know - and be reminded of - the unconditional love of the Father for all mankind. The Son of the Living God, Jesus of Nazareth, born of the virgin Mary, whose death paid the necessary price for the sins of the whole world - this is what we preach. As St. Paul writes to the Church in Corinth, "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2)."

Christ's church on earth is called to be faithful to this calling. Jesus Christ, also called the Messiah or the Savior, is the best possible example of the love of God for His people. As we are born and conceived in sin (Psalm 51), we are lost forever unless our sin is paid for, or atoned. Jesus Himself bore the very guilt of the sins of the entire world as He died on Calvary. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:22)."

We teach that, having been brought to faith through the power of the Holy Spirit, man is called to do. We are called into service as a joyful response to God's having loved us first.

For example, we teach how we are firmly committed to the "Great Commmission," where Jesus told us to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20)."

As another example, the members and friends of Grace reach out to our neighbors and friends through acts of service and friendship. We believe and teach, as St James wrote, "Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2:17)."

Grace Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and subscribes unconditionally to the unaltered Augsburg Confession. We accept the Book of Concord as it is a true exposition of the Scriptures.
