The objectives and purposes of this organization as formed are to foster and advance the general civic, industrial, commercial, agricultural, and tourism interests of the greater Bath, NY area.

The Chamber was issued a charter of incorporation on April 30, 1924.

The chamber was the driving force in getting ownership of the New York State's Soldiers home transferred to the national government. In 1929, work was begun to secure a Curtiss Memorial Airport in Pleasant Valley. The chamber helped merchants to comply with the National Recovery Act (NRA) and fought to keep the Temporary Relief Administration Transient relief division here in Bath.

Today the chamber has over 250 members from Bath and surrounding areas. The chamber sponsors events such as Music in the Park, a concert held on Wednesday evenings on the lawns of Pulteney Park (runs throughout the month of July); and Spirit of Christmas. These events are free to the public. We are not-for-profit and our membership is made of strong, action oriented, governed by volunteer leaders in the fields of Community Promotion, Business Education, Economic and Small Business Development and Public Affairs.

Bath is widely recognized for its stream and lake fishing, and especially for its trout fishery. The village is one of only 52 communities is designated as "Tree City, U.S.A.". The National Register of Historic Places lists two districts and eight homes in Bath. Walking tours are available to see many of these homes and buildings.
