The mission of Grosse Ile Township Schools, in cooperation with students, parents and community,is to teach the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary for every student to lead a successful life.

Statements of Vision
The vision of the members of the Strategic Planning Committee for Grosse Ile Township Schools is outlined in the statements listed below. These vision statements have been categorized as they relate to Student Learning, Resources, Community Involvement, School Structure, Organization/Instructional Design, and Leadership. It is within these categories that Grosse Ile Township Schools will move forward over the next five years (2001-2006) in providing the children of the district with educational opportunities to meet the demands of both the known and unknown future.

Student Learning
We will have students learning the four basic disciplines - language arts, science, mathematics, and social studies - emphasizing reading, writing and communication skills.
We will have a coordinated technology curriculum K-12.
We will have use of multiple teaching techniques for different learning styles.
We will have physically fit students leading healthy life styles.
We will have our district achievement scores in the top five percent of the state and national achievement tests.
We will challenge all students to reach their highest potential.
We will have students who are responsible; who respect themselves, their classmates and authority; and who model good citizenship.
We will provide our students with practical life skills including time and money management.
We will have students actively engaged in the learning process.
We will have more varied academic choices for our students.
We will have families who are involved with the educational experience of their students.
