Mission :

The mission of the Huntsville Public Library is to inform, educate and culturally enrich the lives of the greatest possible number of citizens of all ages and from varying cultural and economic backgrounds by collecting, organizing and providing easy access to educational, informational, recreational and cultural resources to meet their changing service needs.

Encourage reading at all levels for lifelong learning.

Inform, educate, entertain and culturally enrich the citizens of the community.

Partner with local organizations to provide for the service needs of the citizens.

Provide a central facility adequate to meet the needs of the community in a location that offers optimum access.

Maintain a collection that communicates knowledge, ideas and experience reflecting the community needs, wants and use.

Provide a strengthened staff by encouraging professional development through state and area continuing education workshops.

Maintain a high standard of librarianship required by the state and area library levels
