IRIS-Iowa Reading Information Service

IRIS is a radio service for the visually impaired in Iowa that provides access to local newspapers and information of interest to persons unable to read regular printed material.  In Fort Dodge, we maintain a small group of volunteer readers who read the Fort Dodge Messenger newspaper live on the radio every morning from 8 to 9 a.m.  In addition, those volunteers are scheduled by a volunteer who coordinates schedules and serves as a liaison to our offices in Des Moines.
