The Jacobson Food Shelf provides nutritious food for the hungry in the Jacobson area.  It is open the first and third Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. of each month at Carmel Lutheran Church, 3 miles south of Jacobson on Highway 65.  We also are a distribution site for the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) boxes for those seniors who meet the guidelines.  These boxes are distributed during food shelf hours on the third Thursday of each month. During March and April the Jacobson Food Shelf participates in the Feinstein Challenge and during March in the Minnesota Food share campaign. Donations of money and non-perishable food items qualify the Jacobson Food Shelf to receive moneys from these 2 organizations based on the amount that is contributed.
