About KinderGarten Center: Located in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, the Center, which first opened its doors in September, 1997, services six hundred plus students from five district elementary schools. Specifically geared toward the instruction of Kindergarten students, the Center provides academic and supporting programs which include a state of the art computer lab, an automated library, full-time Reading and Instructional Support Services, speech and language and English As-A-Second-Language classes. The Kindergarten Center creates a climate that fosters literacy through a wide range of listening, speaking, reading, and writing experiences.

The Center also strives to promote strong character development, respect for individual differences, and the importance of teamwork. This is achieved through the implementation of a variety of cooperative learning activities, critical thinking and problem solving tasks and special programs which stress the importance of proper nutrition, good decision making, and the development of positive self-concepts. Partnerships with parents and community organizations are keys to the successful development of the Kindergarten Center. A strong Parent-Teacher Association has evolved and has been instrumental in the establishment of school-wide volunteer programs, the organization of our "Winter Wonderland" and "Spring Fling Fun Day" events, the coordination of food drives, the overseeing of recycling and the generation of extra monies for the benefit of the children through various fund raising events.
