Our purpose and philosophy:

Founded in 1961, Lambs Farm is a premier non-profit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities. Lambs Farm has grown from a small pet shop in Chicago to a 72-acre campus located in Libertyville, Illinois where opportunity flourishes for the more than 250 men and women served.

Those with developmental disabilities served by Lambs Farm are provided the opportunity to advance in all areas of life through ever-increasing residential, vocational and recreational choices. Community partnerships allow them to experience a broader variety of activities. Activities focus on the enrichment of the people of Lambs Farm building their determination to lead full, satisfying lives. They gain independence by having the freedom to be as self-governing as possible and they accomplish all this with dignity, taking pride in all that they do.

Located in Libertyville, Illinois, Lambs Farm is a place that, most importantly, empowers an extraordinary group of more than 250 people with developmental disabilities to lead personally fulfilling lives. Uniquely, Lambs Farm is also a place where families gather to enjoy our many shops and attractions, where community groups hold meetings and picnics, where businesses have products made with care and where many others attend a wide variety of entertaining events.

If you are not already among our long list of friends, we invite you to join us as we build on the legacy left by our Co-Founders, Bob Terese and Corinne Owen. They saw the amazing potential of those with developmental disabilities back in 1961 and guided us to where we are today. Whether you choose to become a volunteer, make a donation or just visit our campus, your support helps make Lambs Farm a truly special organization!
