London Grove Township

372 Rose Hill Road
610-345-0100

The purpose of a Mission statement is to encompass the true purpose of an organization. London Grove Township is not only a geographic location it is a legal entity. As such the Township has responsibilities to maintain the well being of its residents. In order to accomplish this task, an organization should have an overriding purpose that will form the basis for all other goals for it.The old saying: “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there summed up where the Township was as an organization. The Board of Supervisors recognized that this “truism” is not conducive to being successful. So they took steps to correct this. At the end of 2005, the Board adopted a mission statement, and from that a vision statement and strategic priorities. Some of them believed this was the most important work that they had done as a Supervisor. Each of the three components stated above has a different purpose. The “mission statement” is what the Township needs to accomplish every single day to be successful. The “vision statement” is what the Township hopes to become if everything went perfectly. The “strategic priorities” are the major tasks that need to be accomplished to implement the mission and vision statements. The next step is to make sure that the mission statement, vision statement and strategic priorities become a part of the Township’s daily operations. They can be used to guide budgetary decisions, to assist in the preparation of plans and studies, to motivate staff and volunteers, etc.  We believe that London Grove Township should be a proud community that serves as a model for others to follow, by fostering partnerships with its residents and businesses, and by helping and expecting all to be good citizens and neighbors.  Preserving our rural heritage while embracing our new community.
