Long Island University has been offering undergraduate and graduate programs to residents of Suffolk County, Long Island since 1959. The Brentwood Campus, which serves a total enrollment of 1,200 graduate, undergraduate and non-credit students, is located on Second Avenue in Brentwood, on 172 acres of tree-lined property owned by the Sisters of St. Joseph.

The Brentwood Campus has been an innovator in developing Fast-Track Master's Degree programs for working professionals who wish to accelerate their studies. These programs offer a set schedule of courses and a reduced tuition rate. Qualified applicants enroll as a cohort and proceed to earn the M.S. in Criminal Justice.
