A member of the American Youth Football Association and Central Mass Youth Football Association, Lunenburg Youth Football and Cheerleading (LYFCA) provides an opportunity for all children regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or religious preference an equal opportunity for participation in a safe, competitively balanced and organized setting.

Goals

- Teach the fundamentals of football and cheerleading.
- Instill a continuing interest in participating in sports.
- Promote participation in sports as a healthy activity.
- Model and promote good sportsmanship.
- Create an experience that will have a lasting positive effect on the lives of all participants.

History/Backgounnd

Founded in the 1970's, Lunenburg Bengals Football & Cheerleading provides the youth of Lunenburg, MA with the opportunity to partici-pate in competitive football and cheerleading activities for youths between 6-13 years .

Practice starts in early August and the season consists of a multi-game schedule with the possibility of teams moving on to participate in the League SuperBowl, regional championship and national championship.

Cheerleading teams may also move on to participate in a League competition, regional and national competitions.

Many of the towns youth will graduate from the youth football program into the extremely successful Turkey Hill Middle School and Lunenburg Blue Knights High School Programs.

Lots of practice over the the early summer months leads to well conditioned young athletes leading into the fall season. Players of all sizes, shapes and abilities are encouraged to join whether you have played competitive sports previously or are new to team sports.
