No View Farm And Bakery

855 South Rumford Road

About Us:

No View Farm is a diversified organic vegetable farm and Inn with an in house bakery and farmstand. No View Farm is located in the beautiful Androscoggin River Valley of Rumford, Maine an hour northwest of Portland. No View Farm has been farmed using natural and organic practices since 1983.

No View’s system includes: growing and marketing over 80 different crops; providing year-round volunteer opportunities; using cover crops that fix nitrogen and provide organic matter for the soil; developing innovative marketing strategies; and planting habitat areas for beneficial insects and wildlife. This set of strategies allows the farm to integrate farm production with longer-term environmental goals.

No View Farm & Bakery products are marketed both wholesale and retail. We have a second brand Gone Loco! Cafe that features our Local Foods Based Mexican Take Out. We sell to schools, restaurants, at farmers markets and through a Community Supported Agriculture project, or CSA. Both the CSA and the farmers markets forge a direct connection between the farm and the people who buy and eat its produce. Through the CSA, individuals can receive produce through the year. By belonging to the CSA, members support organic farming practices that are healthful for people and the environment. They also have the opportunity to eat the freshest, most nutritional produce available.

With help from our volunteer management team and part time employees, the farm cooperatively produces an amazing diversity of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and greenhouse crops year-round. The farm also has a flock of chickens, and riding horses. We plan to expand to add meat chickens, turkeys and hogs and riding lessons.

CSA members receive fresh produce delivered to convenient neighborhood locations in the Rumford, Mexico, Peru, Carthage, Weld and Dixfield area.

A Local Foods Project

Building a vibrant community—We believe that supporting local farms and eating local foods is a venue to create a healthier and economically vibrant community .

Our Mission is to sustainably operate a local food focused horse farm model that provides educational opportunities while creating diverse local economies through collaborative, cooperative, community projects rooted in agriculture.

Our goal is to serve the community a healthier take out option that is focused on local farmers and their products. Through our menus, newsletters, and information kiosk you will find information regarding the farms and the farm products that are available in our area and throughout Maine.

No View Farm is also home to many outreach activities, including educational tours and school group visits. In 2013, we will be hosting community events. We plan to host a Harvest Festival in fall which celebrates rural life and educates the public about growing food in a sustainable manner. Through such programs to the general public, No View Farm seeks to create awareness of farm realities and to stress the importance of farms in the fabric of our society.
