Church History:

Members of Oak Valley refer to their church as "an exciting new church for your whole family!" But technically, Oak Valley Church is not a new church, but an old church that is reinventing itself.

Oak Valley Church was started in 1960 as Calvary Baptist Church by four families attending Hazel Avenue Baptist Church who felt a need for another place of worship in the Citrus Heights area. From 1960–‘76 the church moved from one temporary facility to another, and with each move it grew in people and resources. In 1977, under the leadership of Pastor David Morrison, the church purchased five acres of land at the corner of Orlando and Cirby Way on the border of Citrus Heights and Roseville. Then in the spring of 1999 John Willoughby became Calvary's current pastor.

In May, 2001, Calvary Baptist Church officially changed its name to Oak Valley Church, and relocated to Northwest Roseville. On Easter Sunday 2002, Oak Valley moved into a 14,000 sq. ft. lease space in the Blue Oaks Tech Center, which is located at the corner of Foothills Blvd. and Blue Oaks Blvd.
