Ontario - Ontario State Recreation Site

2534 Olds Ferry-Ontario Highway

Ontario State Recreation Site is a restful day-use park situated on the west bank of the historic Snake River just north of Ontario, Oregon. Green grass, clean grounds, and modern restrooms greet visitors stopping to boat, fish, swim or picnic for the day. Majestic cottonwood trees, sumac and fragrant junipers offer large splashes of shade to cool the hot summer days and provide startling color in the autumn.

Whether you are a serious naturalist or a casual visitor, Ontario is a great place to enjoy bird watching and other wildlife. Blue heron, Canada geese, river otter, and muskrat are found in the reeds and grass along the shores of the Snake River. Deer feed on a nearby island and are sometimes visible in the early morning mist. Bring your binoculars, picnic basket, boat or fishing pole. Ontario State Recreation Site can be a day away from it all.

I enjoy lunch at this park. It is well maintained. Alot of people, including me, enjoy fishing and boating here. You can also just find a spot to sit snd read. Checked regularly by local officers and park people. I'm truly pleased to be able to visit this place daily.

Small. 6? picnic tables and a boat ramp and bathrooms. Well maintained and very clean. Was a nice break and a good place to walk your dog or stretch your legs. No garbage cans that i saw ,only a sign saying bring your garbage over to an area but no garbage cans there either. Lets help keep this place clean , our entire country is starting to resemble one big land fill !!! No joke , look around !!!
