Piermont Village School

Piermont Village School is a small rural school that looks over the Connecticut River. We have about 80 students in grades K-8. There are 7 full time teachers. We are a member of SAU 23.

To support a sense of community within our school, we have a number of traditional all-school activities. Each year, we develop an all-school theme, which is directly tied to the New Hampshire frameworks. We have an annual all school play, either an International Fair or a Science Fair, a community Thanksgiving dinner, field day, regular “community” meetings, winter carnival, and the annual potato picnic. There is an active student council, which routinely implements improvements.

Piermont Village School has been the recipient of the New Hampshire School of Excellence Award. In order to continue providing quality education for our students, we have implemented some curriculum approaches. We adopted Everyday Math, a standards based math program. We routinely assess test score results. Improving literacy is a commitment. We have adopted specific cognitive reading strategies that are taught across the grade levels. We use the writing process, and our students write every day. We are committed to providing a strong foundation for each student, as well as enrichment, and to helping our students develop into good citizens.
