Pike County Chamber of Commerce

787 Hambley Boulevard
606-432-5504

The Chamber's Board of Directors is an extraordinary group of people who dedicate their time, talents, and civic concern to wise development of the area's economy and quality of life. By being active in partnerships with governmental agencies, educational facilities, and other civic groups, they work to bring the county to full realization of its limitless potential. As a group and along with Chamber members, the Board assists in attracting new business and supporting growth and expansion of existing businesses by creating a healthy business environment, encourages educational excellence by participating in school programs at every level from elementary to post-graduate school, and attempts to create an environment throughout the county which nourishes new ideas and creativity among its citizens of all ages.

Two major projects recently undertaken at the Chamber are the Leadership Pike County program and the Community Assessment Study. The Chamber received a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to develop a continuing program which will identify, train, and encourage leadership in individuals throughout the county. A 7 month program, a group of 20 individuals meets in a different magisterial district each month to examine that district's assets and to develop leadership skills such as conflict resolution and consensus building. The final program is a graduation ceremony recognizing those who successfully fulfill all the program's requirements.
