Pinelog Family Farms
A little about our farm...We are Pinelog Family Farms located in Fairmount, GA. This is our 6th growing season, and we currently grow on about 2-acres. In 2010 we grew over 100 varieties of fruits, vegetables and cut flowers. We have sold at the Tuesday F.A.R.M. market in Smyrna, the Sandy Springs market (SSFM) on Saturdays, and to restaurants including South City Kitchen and Muss & Turners. During the 2009 growing season, we participate in the Georgia Organics mentoring program as mentees (georgiaorganics.org).
We use natural growing methods including crop rotations, cover crops (green manures), composting, etc. We do not spray ANY chemicals on or add ANY synthetic fertilizers to our plants.
Beginning mid to late April, I plan to bring CSA boxes to the Cartersville area on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Current drop off locations will be around the Hamilton Crossing Park and Dellinger Park areas. Details to be set once I find what is convenient to most.
I plan to fill each box with the variety of produce that is ready for harvest that week. All boxes will be similar. I will send out an e-mail on the weekends with what will most likely be harvested and put in CSA boxes for that coming week, along with the price for that week. At that time you can place your order by an e-mail response. Your order should include your desired drop off location. Multiple boxes can be purchased at normal price. I estimate prices to range from $20 to $35. Cash or check payable to "Pinelog Family Farms" accepted. You do not have to order every week, just when you want to. At the same time, orders will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like to order for the whole season, you will be able to, which will secure you a CSA box every week.
