Pleasant Grove Elementary School

150 Reagan Road
770-898-0176

The name Pleasant Grove traces its roots back to the former Pleasant Grove High School, which was established in 1905 on a site about a mile east of the present-day Pleasant Grove Elementary School in the Kelleytown community. The old school building and operations were paid for by the subscription of local farmers, and their goal was to operate the best rural school in Georgia. The current Pleasant Grove school was opened in August 1996 in a technologically-rich facility and continues the tradition of seeking to provide the best for its students.

Pleasant Grove Elementary School is located in Stockbridge, Georgia, a suburban community south of Atlanta. Located in the heart of Henry County, one of the fastest growing counties in the U.S., we regularly experience the challenges and excitement of an ever-expanding school and school system. Despite this growth, we are very fortunate to be able to maintain an excellent pupil/teacher ratio with very favorable class sizes.

This school year is full of exciting learning experiences. Our school has outstanding faculty, students, parents, and community. Our main focus is to ensure all of our students achieve high academic standards within a safe and clean learning environment. As we make a difference one student at a time, we will provide the students with a first-class educational program that promotes academic excellence, positive social interaction, and an appreciation for diversity.
As we become a school of excellence in a premier school system, our mission will be to guarantee our global community of learners flourishes in life with enthusiasm and confidence. We will promote optimal student achievement through data driven decision making, individualized instruction, collaborative planning, academic interventions, and excellent professional learning opportunities for all staff members.

Our theme for this school year is “We are all in this together.” I invite parents and the community to unite with us in our efforts to achieve academic excellence. Please take the time to join the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), assist with school-wide events, or volunteer every Tuesday and Friday.
