Project Mend a House

Project Mend-A-House, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, serving low-income residents, seniors, our aging community and people with disabilities in Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and the City of Manassas Park since 1984.

We provide home modifications and repairs for qualified residents to keep them in their homes safely as long as possible. We focus on making our clients independent in their own homes by making their residences safe, secure, and sanitary. We also provide adaptive daily living aids such as motorized chairlifts (stair climbers), hospital beds, portable ramps, raised toilet seats, walkers, and scooters.

Our volunteers serve an average of 143 clients annually and donate 6,600 hours each year to the community. Some volunteers are former construction professionals, however, most are just willing workers who find satisfaction in service to others. We recruit volunteer carpenters, plumbers, painters, electricians, gardeners, and other willing workers, matching them with people in need of minor home repairs and safety modifications.

We also provide the loan of certain types of daily adaptive living aids for in-home use.

We are located at: 7987 Ashton Avenue,Suite 231, Manassas, VA 20109
