Provident Organic Farm

20980 Nanticoke Road, Route 349
410-873-2942

Provident Organic Farm is a Community Supported Agriculture farm or CSA. In our CSA, members pay before the season begins so that our farmers can use the funds for expenses related to growing the produce for the CSA. In exchange, as the harvest comes in, our farmers supply each household with a weekly supply of fresh, organically grown produce. The farmer uses all of his knowledge and skill to grow healthy, delicious organically grown vegetables, using sustainable agricultural practices, and members enjoy the bounty. Produce is also available for sale at local farmers' markets. Provident Organic Farms consists of several growing operations in the vicinity of Salisbury, MD. Started in 2001 with a small group of dedicated shareholders and one farm, it has grown to serve over 200 families and several farmers.

Our farmer, Jay Martin, is a dedicated organic farmer with over 20 years of experience. Jay does his best with what Mother Nature gives him to bring members a beautiful, bountiful share of healthy, organically grown produce each week. Our members share with Jay the risks of farming, including bad weather and pests, but each season the variety and quality of fresh vegetables in members\\' shares is always impressive. Strawberries, luscious lettuce, and tender asparagus are among the first to arrive in spring, followed by an amazing variety of heirloom tomatoes, beans, and peppers in the heat of summer, and closing with succulent squash and the crispist cauliflower in fall. See our CSA page for a full description of the produce we provide. Many members return year after year since there is no better way to enjoy such a wide selection of in-season, locally-grown produce, organic produce in this area. Each of POF's CSA shares is designed to feed a family of four. Although split shares are not available for sale, we can help you find a partner who is interested in splitting a share with you.
