Putnam Township

3280 West M-36
734-878-3131

Putnam Township is located within the southwest quadrant of Livingston County. The topography of the township is gently rolling to hilly, with two lake chains. It's natural features are preserved in approximately one third of the Township in the Pinckney Recreation Area, Gregory State Game Area, University of Michigan Biological Research Station and Girl Scouts of Metro Detroit, which is host to many recreational opportunities such as hiking, swimming, bridle and cross country trails. Putnam Township includes the Village of Pinckney and the hamlet of Hell.

Thanks to many hard-working members of the community, Unity Playground, next to the Township Hall on the Square, was dedicated May 2004 to the delight of area children.

The Putnam Township Square is also home to the Pinckney-Lakeland-Hamburg Area Division of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce sponsored Art In The Park event the first weekend in June, where hundreds of booths featuring the work of artists and craftsmen can be purchased while listening to live entertainment. The Pinckney Lions Club hosts USA Day each fourth of July with arts and crafts booths and entertainment. Movies On Main, Light Up the Park and the Memorial Day parade are a few more annual events to be enjoyed in the Township Square.
