Quaboag Valley Baptist Church

175 Fiskdale Road
508-867-5920

In the late 1980's, Charlton Baptist Church in Charlton, MA, saw a need for a new, vital, Bible-centered church in the Brookfield area. In the course of time they were instrumental in calling Dean McIsaac to be the first pastor of this new work known as... Quaboag Valley Baptist Church.

"Pastor Dean" Dean & Terri McIsaac moved to Brookfield from the Chicago area to plant this new work in January of 1990 under the direction of Mission to the Americas. Dean had just completed nine years of ministry in a church in Aurora, IL, after graduating from Moody Bible Institute and Wheaton Graduate school. Terri is a native of Yarmouth, ME who met Dean while attending college in New Brunswick, Canada.

When Dean & Terri came to the area in January of 1990, they began hosting a Bible Study with three families for three months and then, on April 15th, held their first public service at the Brookfield Town Hall. Soon they relocated to the Sturbridge Lions Community Center in Fiskdale where they grew from five families to just over 100 regular attenders over the next seven years. In the summer of 1997 Quaboag Church moved to the Tantasqua High School Auditorium located just across the Brookfield line in Sturbridge. In late November 1998, after making renovations, QVBC moved again to the upper level of what was known as Faxon's Antique Center, 175 Fiskdale Road in Brookfield.

On October 15th, 2001, we were blessed to be able to close on the purchase of the antique center building, and saw it all officially become "Quaboag Valley Baptist Church". We believe this is clearly a miracle of God's provision! We invite you to come and visit us!

Since its beginning, the driving force behind everything that God has done here at Quaboag is a deepening passion to reach out to people throughout our area and, by God's grace, to see them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that this is our purpose for being here!
