Home of the Christward Ministry

Questhaven is a nondenominational Christian Retreat encompassing 640 acres of coastal wilderness near San Diego, California. Spiritual seekers from around the world come year-round to these holy grounds for worship, study and renewal. Founded in 1940 by the Reverends Flower and Lawrence Newhouse, Questhaven is "dedicated to the Lord Christ forever." The life and writings of Flower A. Newhouse are those of a Christian mystic, and her insights into the inner realms of life provide us with a path to wholeness that she called "Living the Life."

Retreat activities include Sunday services to honor our Lord Christ, classes and workshops on prayer, meditation, healing and mysticism, artistic expression such as sacred dance and music to enrich the worship experience, nature walks inviting the worship and experience of God-in-nature, and weekend retreats to celebrate the annual festivals of Easter, Michaelmas, and Christmas.

Christward Principles are mystical and esoteric interpretations of Christianity which form the basis of enlightened, purposeful living. Here you can study Christian Mysticism, the life of discipleship, meditation and prayer techniques, and the mysteries of the angelic and nature kingdoms. The Christward Ministry honors the Lord Christ as Lord of all religions. His teachings are the heart and essence of this work.

Ministry Publications include a quarterly magazine, many books and taped recordings of lectures by the founder Rev. Flower A. Newhouse and other spiritually oriented persons, discipleship training lessons, as well as related spiritual art works and greeting cards. These items can be purchased online or in our office.
