The purpose of the Raritan Valley Choral Society is to:

- Enjoy the art of choral singing and performances.
- Increase knowledge of this art both personally and in the community.
- Enjoy the fellowship of other singers.
- Grow and improve both as individual singers and as a group.
- Strive for excellence in whatever music we perform.
- Perform with other musical organizations who also strive for excellence.
- Increase the awareness and appreciation of live choral music within the community.
- Work with other organizations who also share our goals.
- Share, when feasible, the profits gained from our performances with charitable or other non-profit organizations.
