Folsom - Ridley Township Public Library

100 East MacDade Boulevard

History of the Ridley Township Public Library:

The Ridley Township Public Library was originally founded in 1957 by the Women's Club of Ridley Township. From 1957 to 1960 it operated out of the Woodlyn School. In 1962 it reopened in a small room of the new Municipal Building and was overseen by a Library Board established in 1960.

In 1968 ground was broken for a new library to adjoin the Municipal Building. In April of 1971 the Ridley Township Library Board hired a certified professional librarian, and the new library opened to the public in September. Formal dedication of the Ridley Township Public Library took place on December 21, 1971.

Love the new library that opened on April 30, 2018. More spacious and very modern. There are many computers available and comfy seating options such as sofas. There's also a private room for study groups and an additional conference room. The children's room is large and kid friendly. The only request would be more tables for individual study options. 2 more tables could be put against the back wall by windows for private study and work.

They did henna program for kids.(as it says on the website)I registered online a month a go. When I entered the library i was shocked! there were all teenagers around! I asked one of lady who is in charge Can you separated kids and teens? And she said it is actually teen program.we put "all ages" by mistake and turn back their faces. This is ridiculous!it is torture for my kids waiting at least 30 people before them( program started 5:30 I was here 5:32). They are ignoring and not helpful staff at all. Not only is this the Ridley Township Library and Municipal Bldg. It is one of the best birding areas, between here and the Wawa we are able to see Southbound Geese, Red Tail Hawks, Vultures, Woodpeckers, Juncos', Robins, Finches and my favorite Starlings, sparrows and mourning doves!
