The Rotary Club of La Verne, California, Inc. was established June 7, 1967 for the purposes of engaging primarily as a service club.  It also promotes social engagement, connections and acquaintance development among its members along with community service.  The Club was incorporated on September 27, 1967.

The members of the Rotary Club of La Verne, California, Inc. maintain high ethical standards in business, professions, and personal lives and recognize the worthiness of all useful professions.  They advance international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional men united in the ideal of service.

Members of the club meet weekly on Thursdays at 7:30 AM, in the University of La Verne President's Dining Room, located at 1950 Third Street, La Verne, California 91750.    Club programs focus on community service, member engagement, community connections, and opportunities for leadership.

And once eveery month or two, club members, family and friends meet socially in a local restaurant or a member's home for an evening of fellowship and fun.

The club partners with many organizations in its community service projects.  Its partner organizations include but are not limited to:  City of La Verne, La Verne Chamber of Commerce, University of La Verne, Sowing Seeds for Life in La Verne, Crossroads, Inc. in Claremont, California, David and Margaret Family Services in La Verne, Haynes Family Services in La Verne, the La Verne Police and Fire Departments and the Bonita School District.

The club’s service projects include, free water melon for city fair attendees on July 4th, Food Drive to fight hunger in August,  Thanksgiving Food Baskets for the less fortunate in November, Senior Holiday luncheon for La Verne residents who are 60 years old and above in December.  In its quest to inform the residents about our community, the club sponsors a State of the City Address in January and a State of the School District in February.

In the club’s efforts to engage the youth, the club sponsors two (2) students to Rotary Youth Leadership Camp [RYLA] and Teen Leadership Camp [TLC].  It also participates in the District 5300 Music Competition.  In addition, the scholarship committee interviews scholarship applicants in April and awards a 4-year scholarship to a deserving La Verne resident in the amount of $4,000.00.
