Mission:

The Mission of Rural Resources Community Action is to assist people and communities to develop the skills, resources and services necessary to improve their general welfare.

Beliefs:

… in the potential of those we serve

… in the compassion of our community

… in the power of working together to improve the lives of neighbors, friends and families in Northeast Washington

About Us:

Rural Resources Community Action was founded in 1965 by a group of local citizens concerned about their neighbors in need. We are part of a nationwide network of more than 1,000 Community Action Agencies who are a primary source of direct support for the more than 37 million people who live in poverty in the United States.

Rural Resources is not a government agency. We’re a private nonprofit corporation whose goal is to meet the basic social and economic needs of our rural community. Just like any business, we are accountable for how we use our resources. More than 95 cents of every dollar goes directly to put those in need on the road to self sufficiency. And we consistently monitor and evaluate the success of our programs – and our clients – to ensure that our funds are spent wisely and efficiently.

Rural Resources is a major employer with more than 175 caring and skilled staff members working in communities across Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Stevens and other North and Eastern Washington counties.
