Mission Statement

We, the parish of St. John the Baptist in El Cerrito, are a diverse Catholic community. As members of the Body of Christ, we desire to be engaged in the life of our parish and seek and serve Christ and all who are in need.

Our mission is to:

Provide meaningful liturgies while serving the sacramental needs of our community.

Foster a sense of warmth and welcome to all.

Incorporate our cultural diversity into the leadership and ministries of the parish.

Provide faith development for the children, youth and adults of our parish.

Provide opportunities for members to share their time, talent, and treasure.

Promote social justice in light of the social teachings of the Church.

Rooted in our faith, in our commitment to Christian values, and in our respect for one another, we are open to growth and development and welcome the diversity among us as a gift.
