I recently heard a story about someone who was convinced that God was in charge of their life because they had prayed in their distress and to their surprise their weed-eater started up on the very next pull. Perhaps this approach to faith and life seems absurd to many, but it really isn’t that far from the kind of thinking that many of us bring to our own relationship with God.
